Black Vanguard

BlackVanguard.net, this web site, is here to facilitate the process of you, friends and supporters of C4SS, becoming a Black Vanguard -- a dedicated but largely acephalous revolutionary elite that takes the initiative to work together on rapidly and zealously building a revolutionary libertarian class consciousness.

In other words, it's time to get serious about promoting anarchism generally and market anarchism specifically. We don't have to become an authoritarian cult to do this. C4SS can assist, serving as an initial nucleus in entrepreneurial fashion -- but the network we become is the network we decide to become, each of us individually in terms of our decisions about what we want to work on.

I'm going to offer some suggested projects -- but it's up to you to decide if you want to work on them and how much of your own creativity and effort you want to put into it. Here's a link to our project planning forums.

PROJECT LONG MARCH -- This, as I envision it, is going to be our showcase project -- the default project that people can work on if anything else seems to hard. We're going to ask people to canvas neighborhoods -- very simple "place the flyer in the door" stuff. The flyers should be simple, black on white, 8.5" x 5.5" half sheets that direct people to a brochureware web site developed as specifically an entry point to anarchism for the general public. I have reserved the domain "anarchyisok.info" for this purpose. The web site will be organized as a series of steps:

1) watch a simple presentation video
2) buy a book or download a free copy of it [I have in mind "An Agorist Primer"]
3) Get asked to sign up as another volunteer for the Black Vanguard field org.

It's simple. It's cheap, even if we ask people to pay their own print costs and just provide the PDF for the flyer.

It's audacious as hell. As far as I know, nobody else does anything like this. We're going to canvas the nation, like one giant election campaign.
The hope is to pick up activists as we go, allowing it to snowball. I believe this is potentially do-able if we make the materials cheap enough
and stress to the field activists that it's a numbers game -- get X number of flyers in doors to get Y number of web site visitors and Z number of new
activists; then repeat the cycle. Lather, rinse, repeat.

PROJECT BLACK DOVE -- anti-war activism that specifically hooks into getting people into anarchism and activism/education via BV. It's direct action against the war -- counter-recruitment, specifically.

Very basically, Black Dove will follow the overall pattern established in Long March of building a simple but detailed web site that is the closer of the "sale" for people who are referred to it as "leads" by our folks in the field. The lead generators in the field will have printed materials specifically developed to talk about anti-war views, actively discouraging enlistment and specifically seeking to recruit potential US military enlistees to instead become a volunteer for Black Vanguard instead.

I can also tell you that I've tentatively discussed the possibility of reaching some sort of partnership deal on Project Black Dove with a representative of Antiwar.com -- but whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.
